Excel Academically

The NBSE Richmond Professional chapter is committed to fulfilling the mission statement of the National Society of Black Engineers. The chapter strives to “Increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically” in a number ways with such efforts including:

• A Walk for Education

• Collegiate Partnership & Programming – VCU, VSU, UVA

• NSBE Jr Mentoring – Metro Richmond & Nubian Village Academy

• First Lego League

Succeed Professionally

A vital role of our organization is to provide a place for professionals to network with each other while providing career development and support. The NSBE Richmond Professional chapter strives to accomplish this with the following programs:

 

General Body Meetings – Monthly general body meetings allow engineers to network with fellow engineers and representatives from engineering companies.

 

Professional Networking Socials-Speaker Series – NSBE Richmond brings in professionals from local companies to speak on various topics, ranging from financial and estate planning to 3D printing.

 

Partnerships – NSBE Richmond partners with two professional networks and national recruiting firm.  These partnerships allow companies to have access to top talent and they give members a working knowledge of career opportunities.

 

Positively Impacting the Richmond Region

We strive to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who positively impact the community in a number ways. These efforts include:

• Homeless Shelter Feeding

• Holiday Gift Wrapping

• A Walk for Education

• E-Week Career Day
