What is First Lego League (FLL)?
FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is a program of exploration for children age 9 to 14, which is designed to get children excited about science and technology – and teach them valuable employment and life skills. There are three parts to the FLL Season - Core Values, Robot Game, and Project. Generally, they learn the Core Values and apply them as they work on the project and robot game.
In the Robot Game, teams design, build, program, and test autonomous robots using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® technology. The robots are designed and programmed by team members to perform a series of missions during 2½ minute matches.
In the Project, teams research a real-world problem in the area of this season’s Challenge theme. Then they create an innovative solution to that problem. The teams will present their project and compete in the Robot Game at a regional competition usually in November.
